30% off at Gap, Old Navy, Banana Republic

Do you wish you could use those great Old Navy coupons at all the Gap brand stores? Good News! From 7/30/09 to 8/2/09 Gap brands is having there semi annual Give and Get 30% promotion. This coupon is distributed through email or if you know an employee. (I always get one in my email, I get weekly emails from ON)

Copied from Gap site: The company's semi-annual Give and Get sale, which offers discounts of 30% on all merchandise, including sale items, is kicking off on July 30th. Most coupons will be distributed via email, but you can also pick one up from a Gap employee if you know someone who works there. Employees will be getting 25 postcard coupons and 25 email coupon codes. The email codes will also be good for Gap's newest store, Altheta, which is great news for exercising moms!

In addition to the already-popular Corsica and Abbey Road lines currently available on Gap's website and in stores, shoppers can expect to see the full Dance line, which is already getting heavy buzz on the Internet.

As in the past, Give and Get shoppers are asked to specify one of several charities to receive 5% of the total order price. Since Give and Get began, Gap has contributed more than $5 million to various charities through this program alone.

More details are expected to be released about Give and Get this week.

Making the water deal more refreshing

If you have been following the coupon blogs lately you may have noticed you can get free water at Walmart! You can use the 1/1 coupon on the six packs of nestle water at Walmart, which are price at 1 dollar. This got me thinking, is free water a good deal.

If you drink as much water as we do, initially free water sound like a good deal. However upon further examination I have calculated a better deal! I usually buy nestle water a Sam's Club, a 30 pack there costs 3.88 or 12.9 cents each. If you were to buy the 6 pack for a dollar you would be paying 16.6 cents a piece.

The deal I have figured is to buy five 20 packs at walmart. They are 3 dollars each but I will use 5 $1 coupons, making them 2 dollars each, or 10 cents per bottle. Then I will send in the rebate and get two free coupons (upto 4.99 value) which I will use at Sam's Club for the thirty packs. In the end I will get 160 bottles for $10 dollars or 6.25 cents per bottle.

Sweet Kmart Weekend!

I stopped into Kmart Saturday afternoon to take advantage of some last minute doubles! In addition to getting almost everything for free, I scored a free prize. Up on the screen a message appeared and said "customer has won a Kching Surprise! I wonder what it might be... Could it be a free pack of gum, a free bottle of water, a free candy...hmmm... the suspence was killing me. When done paying the cashier my reward printed out and she sutdied it like I had won the grand prize! At this point I am ready to pee my pants!

What I won was $50 dollars off a $50 dollar purchase. I was thrilled. What made this deal even sweeter was the fact that a few weeks back when they had that buy a $50 dollar gift card get a $10 bonus card. I bought 2 $50 cards got 2 $10 bonuses. Then I used one of the cards on a big purchase that got me $14 in catalina cash and now I got a $50 bonus for spending almost nothing. So I spent $100 on the gift cards and got 20+14+50= $84 in free money. In addition I used the other $50 gift card and the two $10 to purchase several toys on clearance and grouped them into 20 dollar purchases so I could use the 5/20 toy coupon! I estimate I have purchased $600 in purchases for my orginal $100 investment!

I used the $50 bonus for a splurge item, I bought a lil quad for my boy! The quad was priced at 79.99 not on sale. But if it goes on sale in the next thirty I will be doing a price adjustment.

I just wanted to let everybody know that the Kching rewards really does pay off!

Is big brother watching?

This has been a really great week for deals. I got 20 eggo products for 10 dollars, plus will get two $10 rebates and 2 $70 dell codes (going to sell on ebay!) Then I got 8 Kashi Cereals and 5 Kashi breakfast bars for only $1.67

Whenever I score a really great deal like this is always makes me wonder if big brother is watching. I usually like to pay with a credit card but in cases like this where the deal is just too good to be true I pay cash. I feel like if I use my credit card they are going to write my name down, and the next time I shop there some alarm is going to go off and I will be escorted from the premises. I know using coupons is not wrong, but the look you get sometimes are alarming. I would just rather not have a business know my name. If the know my name, I fell like every time I walk in there they are going to be looking at me and saying there's that Carla, you know what she does.... and to that I would say "hell yeah, I am saving money!"

Buy expensive items online

For the past several years whenever I have to make a purchase of over one hundred dollars I check online first. You can save a ton of money by purchasing online and usually save sales tax too! The biggest problem with making big purchases online is having to delay your gratification.

Another way I save online is making the minimum purchase for Free Shipping. American Eagle has a kids clothing store online only. The stuff is way over priced but we did get a 20% off coupon and wanted our boy to have shorts like daddy. I only wanted the shorts, but was not about to pay $7 for shipping. So I ordered some clothes for me. They all came in the same box and I returned the clothes for me back to my local AE store leaving me with free shipping and the shorts I wanted. It really bug me that stores double and triple the "cost" of shipping, this is one way I fight back.

7/7/09 Right now AE is having a 70% clearance sale and free shipping for 3 or more items. If you find something you like order it and two more items, then return the other two item to your local store.
